A good accounting system is one which can provide a complete information about the transactions and proccesses within the company and the system itself. A good accounting system is one which can evolve and is willing to accept changes in the business environment without sacrificing the integrity of data and information. A good accounting system is one which can offer peace of mind to the business owners and accountants and without treaths of bugdowns and data lost.

Re: We’ve Updated Everything!

Shoot us a color scheme! We'll see what we can do.

Re: We’ve Updated Everything!

Here are my thoughts.

The new color scheme reaks of web 2.0. I am not sure the type of numbers you were getting on old the site but I preferred the colors much more. The simplification of the site is better overall.

The color scheme for the application itself is pretty bad. I am just not feeling those colors overall they hurt my eyes with the number of shadows and gradients. Maybe it's just me but I preferred the bland old version better.

With that said I think the application looks more organized and functional. I just really hate the colors.

Re: Launching Your Own Business

Thank you Pam. While at the beginning, this shift is really for us to lay the groundwork, like we've mentioned before... the ideal spot is to maneuver towards what the business wants it to look like, not what we want it to look like. This dashboard would just represent the initial default feel.

There will be other sorts of look/feel things coming down the pipeline. Being that there are certain bigger features that we've been working on, the UX side is getting mainly foundational movement rather than complete attention. However, even as such, the business owners will definitely see a change that will make it easier on them.

Re: Going With a New Look

Some thoughts I wanted to ad about the new changes so far. I really like the fact that you guys have got the reminders out of the way. I like using them but the place they are in now doesn't feel right. I also like the fact that I see the ability to create your own dashboard (two thumbs up!). The color isn't that bad either, looks a bit more interesting are we going to be able to customize our own colors in the future? Has anyone mentioned this?

I also like the new chart you guys set up. Looks really easy to read. The other one is a bit confusing at first glace.

Re: Going With a New Look

Hi Ben,
The dashboard looks nice. We are definitely proponents of showing bank balances and aged receivable numbers right on the dashboard.

Re: Going With a New Look

The functionality shouldn't change at all, but some maneuvering should feel a lot smoother. Will definitely go over it when we roll it out.

Re: Going With a New Look

That looks tight! Are we ever going to see a forum? I thought of community and the ability to have questions answered might draw more people to MM and make them realize how great of a tool it is.

We're kind of torn on names so we haven't picked one out yet. Maybe we'll poll the users when we're finally launched and can breathe a little bit. After all, the mascot doesn't just represent us, but all of us (including the clients).

Glad to see that there's many people excited about it! And welcome to Merchant's Mirror!

Re: What’s that? They say naming is one of the most difficult things to do in marketing, so let's see if I can help:

* Murphy - to match the "Merchant's Mirror" name.
* Trevor - to play off of "tree frog".
* Fredrick - Sounds fancy and frog like.
* Bob - simple, like the product.
* Ace - cuz its the #1 online accounting software!

Hope it helps. If I think of anymore, I'll let you know.

Can't wait till Janurary 1st thought - woo!

Re: Beta launch update

Not sure. :) We're excited about it. I can't wait to try out the beta. So far this looks very promising. I am not using quickbooks out of principle. My wife says that businesses have to use quickbooks because it's the industry standard and she has always scoffed at my smaller invoicing programs. I hope your set up proves her wrong. Someone needs to knock the almighty quickbooks down a peg or two.
